Bart Rienties is researcher of effective use of E-learning and project manager at Maastricht University of several national and European E-learning innovation projects. He leads a research and development team that has implemented and evaluated new tools that enhance learning in virtual groups. These projects are developing innovative pedagogical approaches to tackle knowledge deficiencies, lack in competencies or problems with self-efficacy of prospective international bachelor and master students as well as professionals. He received several awards for his educational innovation projects and was nominated three times as best teacher. Finally, he is chairman of the international EDINEB Network.
